Once again, Diamond Floor Enhancement has restored a terrazzo floor to its original beauty. The age of the university building precluded the availability of elevators, so all equipment was hand-transported to four separate levels. Lightweight 110 power-based equipment made this SilTanium DFE process possible.
We polished hall floors and landings to an 800-grit level and burnished with Diamond pads after the application of SentryGuard. To provide protection without an overwhelming shine, we processed the steps using CFE (Chemical Floor Enhancement).
When many small holes and cracks opened up, we filled them with a fast-setting polymer before flattening and polishing them to uniformity with the floor. Once rescued from years of wear and soil impregnation, the floors brightened to a high gloss. This restoration took only days and now the area is easily maintainable for years to come.
