More SilTanium Supreme-V is being used at a university Daycare center to reduce periodic maintenance costs. Daycare’s are tough work environments. Furniture, toys, learning aids and rugs need to be removed from each class room and then replaced when work is complete for the night. Generally, work starts late and ends early. Therefore, time is supremely important.
The project was 7100 square feet. The halls were about 1,700 square feet of VCT. The VCT was stripped 100% and four coats of SilTanium Supreme-V were directly applied to the VCT. It took less than two quarts of SilTanium Supreme-V and just two hours for all four coats and a burnish.
SilTanium Supreme-V dries in about 5-7 minutes and is ready to recoat. It averages about 13,000 square feet per coat (verses floor finish at 1,700-2,000 square feet per coat). Floor Finish would have required 6 coats and taken a minimum of 6 hours to coat and burnish. The labor involved for the time differential in application more than paid for the cost of ½ gallon of SilTanium Supreme-V versus 6 gallons of floor finish. And then the real savings begin as there is no top-scrub and recoat required and burnishing will drop from weekly to every 1-2 months.
