Auburn University has a few buildings that present challenges to the facility operations folks. The Comer Building is one of these outliers. There are several floors and no elevators. There is only one janitorial closet to supply water and dump waste cleaning water on all upper floors.
Maintaining traditional floor finish in this environment is very difficult. The yearly stripping and re-application of floor finish is literally a manual process. This year, Auburn decided to defeat the problem by switching to SilTanium Supreme-V which does not require top scrub and re-coat or stripping and refinishing. However, if a floor must be stripped, SilTanium Supreme-V can be removed in one pass with a maroon pad and SSRefresh.
